Reflection Quest

Reflection Quest is a top-down platformer/hack and slash game where Squire must use his sword powers to move through the different mirror worlds to stop the slimes. This project was developed by Nine Nytes Studios under the University of Central Florida.

Engine: Unity

For this game I needed to create the ice cave which featured an ice sliding mechanic that the player used to traverse the level as well as melting blocks of ice as obstacles that would require the player to use a fire sword to melt and progress.

With this particular level I needed to make sure all the collision was correct in order to have the sliding be smooth and for the player to stop at the correct spots in order for the level to be completed.

Ice Cave First Puzzle

I felt that I learned how to more properly build with intention since every placement needed to be made to not let the player get stuck anywhere within the level as well as the importance of communicating with the team to ensure the proper workflow is accomplished.
